New Year, New Gear
It seems like every year goes by quicker than the last and 2023 was no exception. It was a very exciting year for the team here at ProMaster as we hit some new milestones with the help of all your amazing support! The new year is a great time to take a look at your current gear and see new ways to improve your creative process. Here are some innovative products we introduced this past year worth considering.
If you have been following our journey for the last 6 months you’ll know that we launched our first Kickstarter campaign for the Chronicle Tripod this past August. We are happy to say that with your support we blew through our goal and were able to deliver the Chronicle ahead of our original schedule!
If you are just tuning in, no worries! We designed the Chronicle for the modern-day creator. With the ability to quickly convert from a full-size tripod to a tabletop tripod/handheld stabilizer and a monopod, you’ve got so many creative possibilities. Oh, and you can instantly swap your mirrorless camera out and attach your phone with the integrated phone clamp. Everything was designed to reduce the number of obstacles in the creative process and help you create without limits.
Compact LED lights are incredibly versatile tools. Toss one in your bag and bring it on a portrait shoot to help illuminate a subject, throw it on your camera for an enhanced vlogging experience, or use it in a studio to provide a creative look for a product shoot. The use cases are endless!
The new CL33RGB offers 360 different hues in RGB mode, a color temperature range of 2,500K-8,500K in bi-color mode, and 19 special effects (cop car, candle, and much more). With 4 cold shoe mounting points on the Chroma, you don’t have to worry about sacrificing your camera’s hot shoe mount. Quickly throw on an external mic such as the SGM2 to help improve the audio quality of your videos if you are out vlogging with your setup. For moments when you need to quickly add a fill light, you can attach the Chroma to a metal surface via the magnetic backing. Super convenient!
A major upgrade from the previous generation is the ability to control the light with our Light Attendant App. The intuitive app interface makes controlling your Chroma a breeze. If you are familiar with our other lighting products, you may already know that we have a suite of LEDs that are now compatible with the app. By keeping everything in the same ecosystem, you can easily set up and control any of the supported lights.
Shoulder bags are a timeless piece of gear for transporting your camera around on a shoot or for a stroll through the city. Offered in 4 different sizes, the Blue Ridge line of bags is suitable for a wide array of creators and camera bodies. We introduced the line over a year ago and are excited to offer a new green colorway.
The new drop provides the same great features such as fast-action magnetic latches and a zippered top for instant access to your gear. A plethora of additional storage for accessories such as filters, SD cards, and cleaning supplies can be found on all sides of the bag as well.

There's nothing better than starting off the new year with a nice cleaning. Whether it's your apartment or camera gear, we can all agree that having a clean slate is like a breath of fresh air.
Giving your lenses, filters, and camera bodies a clean has never been easier. The Premium Optic Cleaning Pen features a goat hair brush on one end for quick dusting. With a rotation of the pen, you can set the brush to your desired length or retract it when not in use. On the other end of the pen, you will find a carbon tip optimized for removing fingertips and smudges. The dual-sided tip offers a round end for cleaning lenses and a triangular end for cleaning your camera’s viewfinder or LCD screen. Better yet, it is constructed of high-grade machined aluminum, meaning it will last for many adventures to come.
Having the right cleaning equipment with you is imperative. Lens pens take up little to no room in your kit but their importance cannot be understated. If you are looking to keep your gear cleaner in the new year, this is a great place to start.
LED panels are incredibly handy whether you are lighting a studio, home office, or a scene in a short film you may be working on. The new Ultrasoft RGB line is built off of the same great platform as its predecessor but with some excellent new features.
You can probably guess by the name that the light is full RGB, meaning you can dial in up to 360 different hues. Similar to the Chroma CL33RGB, the Ultrasoft also offers 19 special effects and a bicolor mode with a full spectrum from 2500k to 8500k. Along with this, it offers the same controllability with the Light Attendant app. This is huge if you are set up in a studio and are manning the camera but want to make an adjustment to a light that is way up on a stand or across the room. No need to drop the stand to make an adjustment, simply pull your phone out and dial the lighting however you desire.
The Ultrasoft RGB is offered both as a single light as well as a two-light kit for those that need more coverage. Both options come with a light-stand so you’ll be ready to rock right out of the gate. This is an amazing place to start for those looking to build out a studio or enhance their product photography. For the seasoned pro, these units can be streamlined to work effortlessly with an existing studio setup.
Faster, more capable cameras mean you need cards that can keep up. We are always seeking to improve the already blazing fast speeds of our Velocity CFexpress cards and with the introduction of PCI Express 4.0 Bus, we have achieved just that.
With minimum sustained write speeds of 1400MB/s and read speeds of up to 1780MB/s, these cards are very fast, making them perfect for use in an array of applications.
Offered in sizes ranging from 325GB to the all-new 1.3TB there is sure to be a card that fits your needs. 1.3TB is a ton of space! This would be a perfect choice if you are looking to capture some intense video codec files and need both fast write speeds and lots of storage.

2023 was an amazing year and we’re stoked about what’s to come in ‘24. We’ve got a whole lot in store for the new year!
