Whether you’re going to school to study photography or just getting started in the field, you might be wondering what you need. After investing in your camera body and lens, there are still a few more solid accessories worth adding to your gear set up. From the right filter and back up batteries to the best beginner’s tripod and the bag to pack it all in, we’ll review the ProMaster products you need to get started.
Scout Tripod
Every photographer can benefit from having a trustworthy tripod on hand. While the tripod market is large and varied, the ProMaster Scout tripod is a solid and affordable option for content creators just getting started.
With the Scout you can adjust the height of each of the 4-section legs independently and set them at multiple angles and heights to level your camera on uneven ground. The center column has a retractable weight hook so you can easily add stability. The column can also be separated into two parts to get your camera down to ground level, perfect for macro photography and unique perspectives.
The Scout ball head uses just one knob for smooth and intuitive operation. It includes the ProMaster Dovetail quick release system (Arca-type) so you can use the included quick-release plate or an L Bracket and other compatible accessories. The Scout tripod is available in three sizes, from a maximum working height of 63.25” up to 70.25”. The Scout is a beginner friendly tripod, so you can enjoy photography even more while advancing your skills.
USB-C Battery
The ProMaster batteries with USB-C charging are now available for a wide range of popular cameras. They combine the necessity of having a backup battery with convenient charging via the included USB-C to USB-A cord in any USB power port. You can charge this battery with your car, your laptop, power bank, or just through a standard outlet. Never be without a charged backup battery ready to go with this convenient battery.

Basis Filters
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: filters are an indispensable part of the creative process. The ProMaster line of Basis Filters are a great starting point and offer a terrific value. They are constructed with polished optical glass and offer high light transmission.
Add the Basis CPL Filter to remove or control reflections, improve contrast and saturation, or darken blue skies. Polished optical glass, a special multi-coating formula, and high-grade polarizing film combine to achieve high light transmission and low light reflectivity. Plus, any camera’s autofocus system works perfectly with a Basis CPL.
Basis Filters are also available in Protection to offer, well, protection for your lens. The Basis Protection filter provides protection while transmitting a clear, sharp image to your camera’s digital sensor or film.
Impulse Small Backpack
Now that you have your staples on hand, it’s time to pack it all up. The Impulse Small Backpack has a compact design that’s perfect for taking your gear on the go and packing up any other items you may need for the day.
Let’s go cover the details of this tiny, but mighty bag. Durable outer fabric combined with high quality SBS zippers ensure this bag will serve you well for years to come.
